That’s why you should always consult a specialist for nose correction
There are 3 main reasons for a rhinoplasty specialist. Her first nose surgery result was exceptionally poor and the condition is unacceptable. A second intervention by the initial practitioner, a so-called corrective intervention, did not produce any improvement. Because of past events, you have lost the necessary trust in your original doctor. Now it makes sense to contact a doctor who also specializes in secondary nasal surgery (nose correction).
The most common reasons for secondary rhinoplasty:
- Nasal breathing has worsened or has not improved
- The bridge of the nose was over- or under-corrected (e.g. residual hump)
- The tip of the nose was positioned too high or too low
- The tip of the nose is still too wide or disproportionately thin
- Irregularities of contours or asymmetries
- The change compared to the initial findings is insufficient
- The nose looks artificial, not natural
- Collapse of the supporting framework with internal scarring
A significant proportion of our patients come for a nose correction with a nose that has already been operated on, but which they do not like despite the operation or where something went “wrong” during the nose operation. In these cases too, simulation technology is a real blessing. In most cases we can correct the nose so that the desired result is achieved.
When correcting the nose, it is often necessary to replace or reinforce it with the body’s own tissue. Most often it is cartilage that is taken from the nasal septum or the ear.
